Q: Is the Vitex 800G QSFP-DD DR8 compatible with NVIDIA switches?
A: No. NVIDIA Spectrum and Quantum 800G platforms use the OSFP form factor exclusively. For NVIDIA, use the Vitex VO-8CDR8CM-AA (800G OSFP DR8 IHS). This QSFP-DD variant is for Ethernet switch platforms that use QSFP-DD ports.

Q: Which Ethernet switches is this validated on?
A: QSFP-DD 800G Ethernet switch platforms. Contact Vitex engineering for the latest validation matrix on your specific switch model and firmware.

Q: When should I choose QSFP-DD vs OSFP at 800G?
A: QSFP-DD makes sense when your switch already has QSFP-DD ports and you want backward compatibility with existing 400G QSFP-DD slots. OSFP is required for NVIDIA platforms and offers higher power budget (better thermal headroom) for next-generation 1.6T modules. Match the form factor to your switch.

Q: Can I use this in a 400G QSFP-DD slot?
A: The physical port is backward-compatible, but the slot must support 800G data rates (8x 100G PAM4 lanes at the SerDes level). Older 400G-only QSFP-DD switches will not drive an 800G module. Verify your switch ASIC supports 800G per port before deployment.

Q: Can I break out into 2x 400G-DR4?
A: Yes. The module supports a native 2x 400G-DR4 breakout configuration with an MPO-12 to 2x MPO-12 breakout fiber. Each branch becomes an independent 400G-DR4 port.

Q: What fiber type and polarity do I need?
