800G OSFP Finned-top to OSFP Finned-top Active Optical Cable, 30m, MSA Compliant
The V8C-P1P030C-AA is a 30m 800G OSFP-to-OSFP Active Optical Cable (AOC) for AI fabric interconnects where short-reach copper is insufficient and modular transceiver flexibility is not required. Both ends use an IHS finned-top OSFP module with 8x 106.25 Gb/s PAM4 lanes over internal multi-mode fiber, delivering 800 Gb/s aggregate throughput as a fully sealed, factory-terminated assembly.
AOCs eliminate field cleaning, polarity, and connector quality risks that plague separate transceiver + structured fiber installations. Reference platforms: NVIDIA Spectrum-4 (SN5600), Spectrum-X800 (SN6000), Quantum-2, Quantum-X800 with ConnectX-7 NICs. Compliant with OSFP MSA and IEEE 802.3ck.

Q: When should I use an AOC instead of a DAC or transceiver pair?
A: Use a DAC for in-rack runs of 1-3m (lowest cost, zero power, lowest latency). Use an AOC for 5-30m where copper signal integrity drops off but factory-terminated simplicity is preferred over transceiver + structured fiber. Use separate transceivers + MPO assemblies when patch panels or future-proofing for 100m+ runs are needed.
Q: Is the Vitex 800G OSFP AOC compatible with NVIDIA Spectrum and Quantum?
A: Yes. Validated on NVIDIA Spectrum-4 (SN5600), Spectrum-X800 (SN6000), Quantum-2 (QM9700/QM9790), and Quantum-X800 (Q3400/Q3200). Both ends are IHS finned-top OSFP modules.
Q: What other lengths are available?
A: 30m is on the standard online catalog. Custom lengths from 1m to 50m are available on request. Contact Vitex engineering for custom-length quotes.
Q: Can the cable be split, spliced, or shortened?
A: No. AOCs are factory-terminated and the connector housings are sealed. Do not attempt to open, splice, or shorten. Damaged AOCs must be replaced.
Q: What is the latency vs a transceiver + fiber assembly?
A: Latency is comparable to a transceiver pair plus OM4 fiber of the same length (a few hundred nanoseconds for 30m, including transceiver SerDes and DSP). AOCs and discrete transceivers use the same underlying optics technology.
Q: Is the cable plenum-rated?
A: Standard variant uses LSZH (low-smoke zero-halogen) jacketing. CMP plenum-rated variants are available on request. Confirm local building code requirements before installation.
Q: How quickly does this ship?
A: This product is stocked for fast dispatch on standard configurations. Custom lengths and bulk quantities are available on request - contact Vitex for current availability. Backed by US-based engineering support.
