Vitex VQ-40LR4CP-AA are designed for use in 40G connections over single mode fiber. They integrate four independent transmit and receive channels that operate at 10.3125 Gbps. The module can operate at 40Gbps up to 10km using 9/125um SMF. They are compliant with the QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE standards.

Q: What is the difference between 40G LR4 and 40G LR4 PSM? A: Standard LR4 uses one fiber pair (LC) with multiplexed wavelengths. LR4 PSM uses parallel fibers (MPO) to transmit 4 separate signals, allowing for simpler optics and breakout capabilities.
Q: Can I break this out to 4x 10G LR SFP+ modules? A: Yes! Because it is a parallel optic (PSM4), you can use an MPO-to-4xLC Single Mode breakout cable to connect to four individual 10G LR transceivers.
Q: What specific connector does this require? A: It requires an MPO-12 APC (Angled Physical Contact) Single Mode connector. Do not use standard UPC (flat) MPO cables.
Q: What is the maximum reach? A: It supports up to 10km on G.652 Single Mode Fiber.
